CIPR VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION AWARDS 2023

This blog was first published on www.ciprcrisiscommsnetwork.com on 29 June 2023

I am so proud of everything that the CIPR Crisis Communications Network has achieved. We aim to promote excellence and share best practice in crisis communications. Not yet 2 years old, we already have over 600 members located in over 30 countries; we put on regular cutting-edge events with international speakers and create original content for our dedicated website  www.ciprcrisiscommsnetwork.com every month.

This month we are delighted to announce that our committee members have won nine CIPR 2023 Volunteer Recognition Awards.  Our Special Advisor, Rod Cartwright, has been recognised as Strategic Comms Expert of the Year and was one of the winners of the Developing Best Practice Award; Adelaide Arthur Chart.PR was named as one of the Events and Social Media Champions of the Year and as an Unsung Hero along with Sara NaylorKriti Gupta was named as one of two Rising Stars of the Year; and our two Co-Chairs, Chris Tucker and Katherine Sykes FCIPR Chart.PR were named as Outstanding Leaders of the Year. Chris was also recognised for her Outstanding Contribution to PR.

Of course, we are all delighted and I’d like to thank every member of the network’s committee for all their hard work, enthusiasm and dedication. I would also like to thank all our members and to everyone else who supports us including everyone in CIPR’s volunteer team, especially Hayley BarrettSarah Ion, Paul Thurston and Jon Gerlis Chart.PR who always go the extra mile for us. And last but not least I’d like to thank CIPR’s CEO Alastair McCapra and Director of Professional Development and Membership Sukhjit Grewal, who supported us right from the beginning.

MEMBERS AND PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS – we have great plans for the rest of 2023! On 4 July we are holding a webinar about Organisational Resilience and Crisis: this will be followed by webinars about the threat from insiders and another about toxic culture. We will also host another Open House in October. In the autumn we plan to publish our first skills guide (how to write a crisis comms plan) and, of course, we will continue with our regular programme of original blogs.  If you’re not already a member, please do join us - just navigate to your Profile on CIPR’s website and select us as a group to join. We really welcome your views and support as we’d be nothing without you!

Thanks everyone!
